Vitamin D3

Vitamin D3, sometimes known as the ‘sunshine vitamin,’ is produced naturally in the skin when it is exposed to sunlight and can also be obtained from the following foods,

oily fish – such as salmon, sardines, herring and mackerel
red meat
liver
egg yolks
fortified foods – such as some fat spreads and breakfast cereals

Although classified as a vitamin, D3 also referred to as “calciferol,” actually transforms into a hormone in the body and circulates in the bloodstream to help in the absorption of calcium and phosphorous. This is perhaps one of the most vital functions that Vitamin D3 performs. Calcium builds and strengthens teeth and bone mass and is vital for bone development and growth.  In addition, Calcium plays a role in the production of hormones in the body by transmitting nerve impulses to the brain. Almost 99% of your Vitamin D3 supply is used for regulating the calcium in the body; the remaining part is utilised for strengthening the immune system and maintaining muscle strength

If you don’t spend enough time outside with uncovered skin during the summer months you may develop a vitamin D deficiency. From October to early March, the sunshine in the UK doesn’t contain enough UVB radiation for our skin to create vitamin D. This could leave you with low vitamin D levels making supplementation a wise choice.

Nature's Fix offer a wide range of vitamin D products so everybody can find a method that suits them. Choose from capsules, tablets, sprays, liquids, gummies to get your fix.
