Vitamin K

Vitamin K is needed for bone health, is needed for blood clotting (wound healing and is linked to preventing heart disease as can help prevent calcium build-up in the arteries.

It can be found in certain foods such as:

  • Kale
  • Collard Greens
  • Spinach
  • Broccoli
  • Brussel Sprouts
  • Beef Liver
  • Prunes
  • Kiwi
  • Avocado
  • Peas

There are two types of Vitamin K, they are K1 and K2. Vitamin K1 is found mainly in vegetables and Vitamin K2 is found in animals. The differences are the absorption rates in them as Vit K1 is poorly absorbed in the body and does not remain in the body for as long as K2.
